Canada invited 27,332 immigration candidates in its exceptional Express Entry draw!

On February 13, the candidates from the Canadian Experience Class who held a CRS score as low as 75 were invited by IRCC for permanent residence. Candidates with a minimum score of 75 were required to only submit their Express Entry profile before September 12, 2020 at 15:31 UTC, to be included.

The previous Express Entry record was 5000 which signifies the magnitude of this 27000 draw. It seems that Canada is on its way to absorb 400,000 immigrants a year, as stated earlier by the government.

On Wednesday, an Express Entry draw also invited 654 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates, making a total of 27,986 Invitations to Apply (ITA) during this week.

This proves that Express Entry is still the main source for Canada to absorb immigrants and also shows that it is in the best interest of each candidate to enter the Express Entry pool, even if their score is not high.

IRCC will probably hold all-program draws in 2021 and will continue to process Express Entry applications of skilled workers from abroad when travel restrictions end. To shed more light on the Express Entry process, consider the fact that Express Entry is a system, managing 3 streams of immigration: The Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class.

Eligible persons will get a score determined by CRS factors and then get into the pool of Express Entry. Draws happen every two weeks and candidates from the pool will be invited to apply for permanent residence.
